<aside> ℹ️ Students will deliver presentations about important personalities of Turkish Politics throughout the semester as groups of 2-3. If you are unable to make a presentations due to legitimate reasons, with the explicit approval of the instructor, you can write a political novel analysis. The choice of topics of presentations and papers will be supervised by the instructor. A student cannot present and write a paper at the same time. The distribution of topics will be announced during the class and in the course home page.

Presentations

Please follow the guidelines below in your presentations:

<aside> 💡 1. Presentations will be made in accordance with the table given below. Every late week has a penalty of 25%. (Except for a physician's report.) 2. Presentations should be done in 10 minutes. At the end of 10 minutes. no extra time will be given. 3. Consider the importance and impact of the person who you are going to present in the Ottoman/Turkish political life. Focus on their impact in the Turkish political life. 4. You are advised to use visual items (photos, pictures, videos etc.) in your presentations. You do not have to use slides in your presentation but if you do, please do not include long sentences and paragraphs. Short titles and main points supported by visual elements are highly recommended. 5. Since your time is limited, you are advised to have a rehearsal before the presentation, in order to check the time limit.

Political Novel Analysis

<aside> ℹ️ Majority of these novels are only available in Turkish but some of them are also available in English, as well. Regardless of whether you read it in Turkish or English, papers must be written in English.
